Store feature: Café Postal

October 3, 2017

Café Postal was the first spot ever to carry Coal and Canary candles, so we thought it was fitting that they would be the first retailer we feature on our blog!

Café Postal is a specialty coffee shop nestled just below street level in the heart of Saint Boniface. Friendly and knowledgeable baristas serve direct-trade espresso based drinks and single origin filtered coffee, made with care.

It was was born in October 2012 and some pretty cool dudes now own Café Postal: Andre Clement, Larry Spittle and Louis Levesque-Cote.

We had a chat with Louis, who remembers why he decided to start carrying our candles.

“They just liked all of our photos on Instagram so we would notice them. It worked. I contacted them and asked if we could carry their product in our store,” says Louis Levesque-Cote.”

Café Postal is special because they source their beans by direct trade, which means they are straight from the farmers.

They serve carefully and skillfully crafted coffees from a micro roaster based out of Toronto called Pilot Coffee Roaster.

The Coal and Canary team loves caffeine, but we especially love this caffeine.

Louis told us that since the Coffee Shop Collection was the first and only collection available, and with Café Postal being a coffee and sandwich shop, it was a great fit for us.

“Now around Christmas it is great to have the winter collections so the shop smells Christmasy. Plus, the design is a great fit for us.”

Swing by Café Postal at 202 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram
